The core approach of the KD Hall Foundation rests on multigenerational, multicultural mentorship.

ABOUT THE KD HALL FOUNDATION

In response to the surveys indicating that women are frequently viewed as having lesser skills in the labor market compared to men, the KD Hall Foundation is offering educational programs, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities to help young women build confidence in pursuing their desired careers.

Vision

KD Hall Foundation visualizes a world with gender equity and parity in the workplace, business, and leadership opportunities available to all women and girls regardless of their race, economic background, or status. The Foundation seeks to change the existing narrative, starting with the next generation of female leaders.

Mission

The mission of the KD Hall Foundation is to propel women and girls to become leaders, with a hyper-focus on black and brown girls. The Foundation envisions a world with gender equity and parity in every aspect of women and girls lives. Examples will be the workplace, business, advocacy, health care systems and their schools and leadership opportunities. Through its work, the Foundation seeks to change the existing narrative, starting with the next generation of female leaders.

How it started

In 2014, founders KD and David Hall were thrilled to find out they were expecting their first child. They were certain that they were expecting a boy, only to discover after six months that they would be having a girl. The news altered their point of view, taking into account the reality of the challenges women encounter in the workforce.

That was when they decided to make the world a better place for their daughter, and all girls, to grow up in — a world where women have not only the opportunities to achieve their dreams, but the skills and self- confidence to pursue them. The same year their daughter was born, KD and David started the KD Hall Foundation.

How we work

The KD Hall Foundation provides support and opportunities for young women from a range of different backgrounds, reminding them that they have the ability to be leaders and to pursue their desired career paths.

The Foundation creates a secure and supportive environment for young women to explore their identities. By offering a program that is exclusively for girls and includes a diverse range of ages and races, the organization fosters a space that encourages growth and self-discovery. This allows young women to feel comfortable being themselves among others who are doing the same.

Our Pillars
